The Objective
Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel in Highland, California, worked with Kitchen Energy Solutions on their goal to increase energy savings at their food hall. The challenge presented in this new construction project was to find a way to greatly reduce exhaust fan speed due to their 24 hour a day operation.

Yaamava’ Resort & Casino was undergoing a new construction renovation of their food hall complete with five new kitchen hoods and five new exhaust fans. The DCKV system chosen for this facility needed to have the ability to turn the exhaust fans down very low for their 24/7 operations, integrate with both VFDs and EC motors, communicate to the building automation system, and have the ability to customize a fire suppression sequence to the facility’s needs with one overall system controller.

Our team was left to determine how energy savings could be achieved with this highly complex system and required integrations.

The Solution
A custom ECOAZUR® design was the perfect solution for Yaamava’ Resort & Casino’s food hall, providing the ability to construct the system into the hoods prior to shipment while meeting all design requirements, resulting in an energy saving solution with a seamless install.

KES teamed up with Caddy Hoods to integrate the ECOAZUR® system prefabricated into the hoods prior to shipment. While meeting all of the design requirements, the ECOAZUR® system seamlessly fit into this project. KES performed a full system startup on the project which consisted of additional wiring needs, assistance with the purchased motors, lending expertise to new VFDs needing integration, programming, and system commissioning.

Post installation at the casino’s food hall, the ECOAZUR® system was chosen as a retrofit solution for 5 additional existing kitchens on site. The Yaamava’ Resort & Casino will be enjoying the initial and additional energy savings for years to come!
